LTA Oxygen Trim Control

LTA Package SystemBenefits

[Technical Information]

The LTA Oxygen Trim System provides easy to install Oxygen Trim Control for single point positioning (jackshaft) burners.  The LTA (Link Trim Actuator) is an integral part of the link (rod) that connects the fan lever arm to the jackshaft lever arm.  The LTA movement “Lengthens” or “shortens” the fan linkage in order to add or subtract air flow and to keep the Oxygen at setpoint.

Complete Oxygen Trim Package

  • LTA Actuator, PCC-III Controller, Firing Rate Sensor, and ZP Oxygen Analyzer provide complete Oxygen Trim control package for a Jackshaft Burner

Minimum Fuel Usage

  • Flue Gas Oxygen is used to continuously adjust (trim) the air/fuel ratio.
  • Oxygen trim saves fuel by fine tuning the burner to operate safely and reliably at reduced excess air levels throughout the burner firing range.

Real Time Boiler Efficiency Display

  • Allows the boiler operator to instantly identify inefficiencies and potential operational problems

Safety

  • Flue gas temperature and Oxygen are monitored.
  • Low flue gas Oxygen trips the burner after an adjustable time delay.
  • High flue gas temperature warning messages and trips are available.

Direct Interface

  • Directly Interfaces with Shaft Position Sensor (SPS), potentiometer firing rate sensor or 4-20 mAdc from combustion controls.

Interfaces with Existing Flame Safeguard

  • It permits automatic operation

Features

LTA Oxygen Trim System Diagram

  • Manual air trim capability with automatic adaptive gain
  • Continuous cell impedance checking for cell health prediction
  • Oxygen trim delayed (adjustable) after light off to allow stack oxygen to stabilize
  • Simple Auto/Manual control on the front of the controller to allow Automatic or Manual control of the flue gas oxygen trim
  • Easy commissioning using “Learn mode”
  • Automated purge & light-off under flame safeguard system direction
  • RS-485 MODBUS interface is available for off-site monitoring and control
