BurnerMate Boiler Control

BurnerMate TSBenefits

[Technical Information]

The BurnerMate TS Boiler Management System is a combined boiler control, flame safeguard and monitoring system with a touch screen operator interface. The BurnerMate TS is a full scope control package, that assures safe and efficient boiler control with undivided responsibility.

Fuel-Air Ratio Control

  • Independently Controlled Fuel and Air Servo Actuators - save fuel by accurately positioning fuel valves and air damper according to load
  • Flue Gas Oxygen Trim - is used to continuously adjust (trim) the fuel-air ratio
  • Variable Speed Fan Combustion Air Flow Control - minimizes damper pressure drop related fan power usage
  • Real Time Boiler Efficiency Display - allows the boiler operator to instantly identified inefficiencies and potential operational problems
  • Safety - Flue gas temperature and oxygen are monitored. Low flue gas oxygen trips the burner after an adjustable time delay
  • Single Point Positioning Control - is field selectable when a simpler installation is desired. The Link Trim Actuator may be mounted in-line with the air damper linkage to provide oxygen trim functions.

Boiler Auxiliary Control (separate module)

  • Feedwater Valve Control - drum level and steam flow sensor inputs allow the controller to respond properly during substantial load swings
  • Draft Damper Control - "GAP" PID and firing rate feedforward control features assure stable draft even during load changes
  • Two Auxiliary Servo Controls - are available for Flue Gas Recirculating (FGR) or other load dependent devices
  • Economizer Monitoring - Sensor inputs are provided to monitor water and flue gas in and out of the economizer

Flame Safeguard Protection

  • Flame Safeguard - provides burner sequencing, ignition and flame monitoring
  • UV or IR Flame Scanners - are applied based on the application
  • Current Burner Operation Status includes - Flame signal, sequence of operation, diagnostic and "First Out" cause of lockout messages
  • Optional Historical Burner Data inlcudes - last six lockout conditions, number of burner cycles and burner run time hours
  • Auxiliary Device Interlock - boiler room fresh air dampers and fuel oil pump call of operation is included

Touch Screen Operator Terminal

  • 10 or 6 Inch Display Sizes - 10.4" TFT 256 color VGA 640 x 480 pixel LCD or 5.7" CSTN 256 Color QVGA 320 x 240 pixel LCD
  • Password Protection - user configurable options and parameters, external commissioning tools are not required
  • Real Time & Historical Trending - is a standard feature, optioanl extended data collection allows historical alarm and event data to be exported to MS Excel
  • X/Y Plots - for intuitive fuel-air curve display and commissioning

Advanced External Communications

  • Intranet Network - Ethernet connection is available for Building Automation System (BAS), SCADA system or standard internet browser communication
  • Telephone Modem (optional) - allows communication to a remote user over standard analog telephone lines
  • RS-485 Modbus Interface - is available to communicate to an external flame safeguard that is existing or supplied by others

Advanced Communication

Communication

Internet, Web Site Access

A standard WEB Browser provides remote monitoring and operation. Custom Software is not required. Historical alarm and event data can be imported to spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel

Intranet Communication

The ethernet communication port is easily assigned an IP address and connected to a facility wide network. Remote monitoring, control and data collection is available via a standard WEB Browser. Building Automation Systems and SCADA Systems are interfaced via industry standard MODBUS Ethernet communication

Touch Screen Operator Interface Terminal

Monitor and control boiler operation, setpoints, and process data from one convenient display. Commissioning activities are laid out in an easy to follow step by step procedure, eliminating the need for knowledge of controller menus and programming languages

DCS-III Programmable Controller

The DCS-III is a state-of-the-art boiler-focused programmable logic controller. The large I/O quantity, small sub-panel foot print, intuitive "Blockware", redundant memories, and built-in industry standard communications allows the DCS-III to be integrated into complex boiler control systems with a minimum number of external components
